Attendance Dash 2024 - Attendance Competition
Every student who attends school every day between 4/8/24 and 5/28/24 will be entered into a schoolwide opportunity drawing sponsored by our PTO. Late arrivals and early dismissals will not exclude a student from participating; being present even for a portion of the day is better than not coming at all!
Attendance Fact: Between 8th grade and 12th grade, a student who is chronically absent is 7.1 times more likely to drop out of high school.
3rd - 8th Testing Schedule
April 29th - May 3rd: ELA CAASPP During this period, our students will showcase their proficiency in English Language Arts, demonstrating their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
May 6th - May 10th: Math CAASPP Students will complete complex math problems, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to demonstrate their mathematical skills.
May 13th - 17th: Science (Grades 5th & 8th) Science exploration is the focus as students in Grades 5th and 8th practice scientific inquiry, demonstrating their understanding of key scientific concepts and processes.
What you can do at home to support your child:
Explain to your child that these tests are used as tools to help them learn, and that they should not be anxious or scared.
Remind your child that you and their teacher want them to try their very best and are there to help, every step of the way.
Explore the practice tests with your child on the CAASPP Online Practice and Training Tests web page at www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html so they can become familiar with the platform and setup of the tests.
